Guide To Cleaning With Alkaline Water

Over the course of the past decade, there has been a rise in water contamination from natural and man-made factors, which led to health issues. Now, during the time of pandemics, people have become increasingly aware of just how important health is.

People are turning to healthier diets, they increased their vitamins intake and started exercising in order to boost their immunities. Drinking plenty of water has remained one of the most important aspects, but what about cleanliness? It should be pretty high up on the priority list.

We’ve talked about the many benefits alkaline water brings but did you know that you can also use it to clean almost every room in your home? Here is how to clean with alkaline water and avoid using harsh chemicals.

Disinfecting With Alkaline Water

When it comes to disinfection there are two methods. One implies killing the bacteria, while the other removes the bacteria from the desired surface.

For the removal method simply spray the selected area with strong alkaline water. Follow up with wiping the surface dry with a clean cloth to make sure you remove the bacteria. Just like water absorbs toxins within our bodies, it can also absorb contaminants on surfaces around your home.

If your water ioniser is powerful enough to make acidic water of pH 2.5, or lower, that water can kill most germs and bacteria. Spray the selected area with strong acidic water and then just wipe it clean. If you can’t produce acidic water of 2.5 pH, you can use any acidic water your water ioniser can produce for disinfection. Milder acidic water will not kill bacteria on contact and will need more time to work, so make sure you leave it for a couple of minutes before wiping the area.

Effective Cleaning Agent for Cutting Through Grease and Grime

The cleaning power of 11 pH alkaline water is strong enough to cut through grime and grease. Alkaline ionised water of pH 10.5 to 11.5 can be used as a great grease-cutter on stoves, rugs, and even clothes. Here are some general guidelines on how to use ionised water as a natural degreaser:

  • Set up your water ioniser on the highest level and pour the water very slowly;
  • Some water ionisers come with a power-boosting option, so if your machine does have it, make sure to use that in order to get the best grease-cutting power from ionised water;
  • Alkaline water of pH 11 is best used right away;
  • When you want to de-grease but also get rid of germs, you can use alkaline ionied water of 11 pH to get rid of grease and grime first and follow up with acidic water rinse. Acidic water of 2.5-4 pH can get rid of germs and is also soft, so it won’t ruin the shine of the surface you’re cleaning.

Cleaning The Car With Alkaline Water

To make a simple cleaner for your car just mix alkaline water and detergent. Electrolyzed water has good cleaning properties and can get rid of clay, salt, dirt rust, and oxide. Make sure you use neutral to alkaline water in order to preserve the alkalinity of the detergents and choose a cleaning solution that will be gentle on your vehicle.
