Green Juice Recipe

Green Juice Recipe

At Naturopress, we try to drink at least one green juice a day. Leafy greens are amongst our favourite ingredients to use in our juices because they are full of nutrients and phytochemicals that have researched health benefits.

General benefits of leafy green vegetables.

  • Vitamins - Dark leafy greens contain vitamins including Vitamin C, K and folate
  • Minerals - Leafy greens are a source of minerals including calcium, non-haem iron and potassium.
  • Antioxidants – Drinking low GI cold pressed green juice could be a good way to consume a nice dose of antioxidants. Leafy greens contain a range of carotenoids that act as antioxidants. Some carotenoids are precursors to Vitamin A.
  • Nitrates– Many leafy greens contain dietary nitrates which we covered here for their nitric oxide promoting-blood pressure lowering effects.

Naturopress Cold Press Juicer

Juice all the leafy greens together preferably with a cold press juicer to ensure high yields of juice from the leaves. If you are using a centrifugal juicer pack the greens tightly before turning the juicer on to maximise the yield. Then juice all the rest of the ingredients and serve with ice.
